Winners of our annual photo competition

A photo is a window on the world, a glimpse of what life is like from someone else's point of view.
This year, the winning pictures take us to new places, introduce us to new friends and show us things in a new way. Photographers with the top entries in Carolina Woman's annual competition didn't take snapshots – they created art.
This year, our readers set a new record for the number of submissions and made it even tougher for the staff to focus in on a few champs. It was, literally, a photo finish. In just the click of a camera, the following images managed to warm the heart, tickle the funny bone and, best of all, tell great stories.

Congratulations and thanks to all our readers who submitted entries.
