In fashion capitals around the world, models for the current season were decked out in '70s and '80s styles from grunge to glam. The runways were filled with disco-ball metals, oversized suits, bow blouses, pleated shirts, neon prints and acid-wash jeans.

Not your era? ABBA and Madonna don't cut it for everyone, so no worries. The catwalks also featured a riot of eclectic outfits – basically, something for everyone.

Sit back and enjoy Carolina Woman's backstage pass to this season's couture. In the last issue, we covered Pretty in Plaid, Color Drenched and Wild Side. Here are more evocative looks.

Sparkle & Shine

Glossy day or starry starry night, winter's arriving with a dramatic shimmer. Glad rags include those turned out in rock-and-roll metallic, high-voltage satin and armor-inspired material as well as those adorned with embellishments, such as sequins and chainmail.

Country Chic

Dresses and blouses are romantic and fluttery but a little punk. The Western-meets-Victorian frock takes on a carefree silhouette. Lace complicates its delicate nature by adopting an air of intrigue. To enhance, add a tough belt and combat boots.
